Professional Development Series: "Social Media 101" with Erin Focke & Kim Elliott

Curious about social media and why and how you can use it? Join us as we show you the basics of the six most popular social media sites, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tik Tok and Twitter. We will share some basic info about each of the six major social media platforms and why you might consider joining. Get a brief tutorial of each site and help with setting up an account. Bring you smart phone, laptop or tablet.

Erin Focke is a native Cincinnatian. She received her Master’s in Elementary Education and Bachelor’s in Communication from the University of Cincinnati. Erin is currently working at her family’s business, E&J Trailer Sales and Service, where they lease and sell semi-trailers and container boxes. Erin is the former Director of Regional Services at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. She was in that role for three years and a staff member there for twelve years total where she focused on building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Erin is active in Presbyterian Women and currently serves as SERRV Coordinator and a Member at Large for the Cincinnati Presbyterian Women and is currently on the Nominating Committee of national Presbyterian Women PC(USA) Board. Erin is married with two amazing stepchildren and in her free time she enjoys reading, crafting and singing. 

Kimberly Elliott is the Executive Director of The Four-Seven, Inc. a Cincinnati-based non-profit, committed to equipping the lives of the incarcerated and their families with tools and resources that lead to transformation. Four-Seven programming consists of life skills training; recreational and religious inside programming; as well as families and reentry support. Kimberly intimately relates to the challenges loved one’s experience when a family member is justice-involved; and advocates it is often our deepest pains that fuels our greatest passions! Kimberly serves on the boards of the Cincinnati Recreation Foundation, JUMPSTART Ohio and the Wright State Institutional Review Board, reviewing all local biomedical research requests where prisoners or conditions particularly affecting prisoners are involved. Kimberly loves most her roles as wife, mother, and “Nana” – to her four grandchildren. She is also an avid reader and published author, with this spring’s publication of Soulbiz being the 4th international writing collaborative she has enjoyed contributing to.
