Staff Sergeant Braxton Gordon was born on July 14, 1995 and is a native of Macon, Georgia. He graduated from Westside High school on May 25, 2013.

Staff Sergeant Gordon entered the Army on November 5, 2013 and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson South Carolina. He was awarded the MOS of 42A (Human Resources Specialist) on April 4 2014.

Staff Sergeant Gordon has held multiple leadership positions from Team Leader to Platoon Sergeant.

His duty assignments include the Special Troops Battalion, Fort Riley, KS, 25th Transportation Battalion, Camp Henry Korea, 101st  Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY , and currently serving as a Recruiting NCO for the United States Army Columbus Recruiting Battalion.

Staff Sergeant Gordon’s military training includes: Advanced Individual Training as a Human Resources Specialist, Postal Operations, Combatives Level 1, Unit Armorer Course,  Unit Postal Clerk Course, Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), Basic Leaders Course (BLC), Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), and Army Recruiter Course.

Staff Sergeant Gordon’s civilian education includes: Associate of Science in Professional Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Leadership from Trident University.

Staff Sergeant Gordon’s awards and decorations include but are not limited to Army Commendation Medal (third award), The Army Achievement Medal (seventh award), The Army Good Conduct Medal (second award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Drivers Badge and the Recruiting Badge Silver.

Captain Brandon M. Smith was commissioned as a 2LT Infantry Officer in May of 2012 through the ROTC program of Gardner-Webb University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  His hometown is Winston Salem, NC. 

After commissioning and completing Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, he was assigned to 3/1 Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Fort Bliss, TX.  During his time there he served as both a rifle platoon leader, and Company Executive Officer (XO) with 2-5 IN.  He also served as the Headquarters and Headquarters Company XO for 1-67 AR, where he deployed to Kuwait in 2016 in support of Operation Spartan Shield. 

Upon completion of his time served as an Infantry Officer, Brandon then transferred to the Military Intelligence branch and attended the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course (MICCC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ in 2016-2017.  Upon graduation from the MICCC, he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served in the Division G2 as operations officer for 12 months.  He then transitioned to 1/82 where he served as a Battalion S2 for 18 months with 2-504 Parachute Infantry Regiment, and then completed his time in the 82nd by serving as the BDE Assistant S2, with 3/82, while deployed to Afghanistan, in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. 

CPT Smith’s professional military education includes Infantry Basic Officer Leader course, Military Intelligence Captains career course, airborne school, and air assault school.  His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC with C-device), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), National defense Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.
